Jewelry Care

The majority of Tikkhu jewelry is gold plated - meaning it is covered by a thin layer of gold over a base metal; when that layer wears down it can reveal the base metal and affect the overall aesthetic of your jewelry. You can take care of your gold plated jewelry to prolong its lifespan and prevent or minimize tarnishing by doing the following:

Always handle your jewelry carefully and with love

Avoid excessive moisture -- remove before showering, swimming or exercising – moisture and sweat will accelerate weathering of your jewelry.

Put on gold plated jewelry after cosmetics have been absorbed. Do not spray perfume or products on your jewelry.

Buff gold plated jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth – this can help minimize oils and keep you pieces looking extra shiny

Clean your gold plated jewelry – To clean your gold plated jewelry, mix a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent with warm water. Rinse your gold plated jewelry in the solution and allow it to air dry. Do not use jewelry cleaner as it may strip away plating!

Store gold plated jewelry in a plastic bag, jewelry bag or airtight box – this will reduce oxidation of your pieces and also protect your beloved pieces
